KB Myth Buster: MediaCorp Channel 8 狮城有约 [Hello Singapore]

Yesterday, during the last segment of MediaCorp Channel 8 狮城有约 [Hello Singapore], they invite someone to share on how to improve wireless coverage and wireless strength.

During the programme, they share about using Powerline Adaptor as one of the option. I have no issue with that but I am not a fan of it. I am a true believer of using wired connection. If you sincerely want to see result, please do not get powerline adaptor. You should install a data point and use a spare router as a repeater in the area facing wireless issue. Nothing beats wired connection.

Please see the above. It was shared that you can use an used aluminium can to help. Simply cut it and open it up, and put it behind the antenna of the router. PLEASE LA. This is just a myth leh.

If you use this, some of the spots in your house will encounter poor connection as the can has became another obstruction for the wireless signal. DANG!!! Furthermore, this method is not reliable and it is so 2011.

If you have any question on improving your wireless connection, please feel free to comment them below.

  1. Powerline has been in the market for many years, but yet to be approved by IDA because of the noise ingress issue.
